Love these questions Maya! Totally going to start thinking about some of these as well! Bonus Question: How can we start paying educators/faculty/staff within the education sector what they deserve?
ReplyDeleteYour question about if college is the "best or right" really hit me, because I have some family struggling to decide which path they are going to take. All paths matter and have value, but the college path is so heavily pushed that they feel apprehensive about taking other routes.
ReplyDeleteSuch important questions (and such a funny meme lol)! A lot of them really had me thinking but being a little more specific: it were questions #1, #3, #5, #13 and #17 that resonated the most. I feel as if they each appropriately acknowledged not only some real struggles that youth have historically faced within our country but some of the real barriers college students (and working professionals alike) are actively facing right now, as well. I constantly question what we can do in the varying positions we're each in to try and make things, like you've said "less intimidating" or "more welcoming", but it is new for me to think of it through the lens of the college admissions process. Thanks for sharing, Maya!
